On Day 1 we learned:

• Regular and emphatic pronouns (p. 4, #1)

• Cé thusa? (p. 6, #5.2)

• Cé as thú? (p. 6, #5.3)

On Day 2 we learned:

• Myself, yourself, etc., e.g. 'Cé as thú féin?' (p. 4, #1.2)

• Introductions, e.g. 'Seo í Máire'.

• Places (p. 6, #5.3)

• Obair bhaile / homework: write a short dialogue in which you meet and introduce a person (using the grammer and vocabulary we have learned).

  • See p. 9, exercise 8 for an example. Note: we have not learned professions yet, so stop at 'An mac léinn thú?'  (unless you already know how to do this).

On Day 3 we learned:

• Hello: 'Dia duit'; Response: 'Dia is Muire duit.' (p. 6, #5.1)

• I am a (profession / nationality / gender): 'Is ______ mé.'

• Question and negative forms of the 'copula' verb 'to be': An (+?); Ní (-).

  • Responses: 'Sea (+); Ní hea (-).  

• Professions (p. 8)

• Feminine nouns + adjectives (p. 27, #2.1)

• New vocabulary: feminine nouns on p. 24; adjectives on top half of p. 25

On Day 6 we learned:

• Remaining vocabulary on p. 24 + practice with masculine/feminine nouns + adjectives

• Do you like ___? 'An maith leat ___?' (p. 32, #5)

  • Answer: 'Is maith' / 'Ní maith'

• Conjugated preposition 'le' (p. 29, #3.1)

• Le prefixes 'h' to vowels (p. 29, #3.3)

• Obair bhaile: Create two characters to have a conversation with each other. Include where they're from, professions, type of girl/boy/man/woman (use adjectives), and a few things they like.

On Day 7 we learned:

• p. 30-31, 4.2.3 (nó, ná) and 4.2.4 (Cé acu is fearr leat?)
